Wightlink announces change for ferry passengers on Portsmouth route

PASSENGERS on Wightlink ferry services must leave their vehicles once onboard under new measures announced.

From next Monday anyone on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route must spend their journey in passenger lounges or outside sundecks.

And anyone over the age of 11 must wear a face covering, in line with legal requirements for public transport.

Wightlink chief executive Keith Greenfield said: ‘We made the decision to ask customers to vacate their vehicles because our spacious passenger lounges are the safest and most comfortable places for people to stay during their crossing.
