Have your say

When you discover a beach where dramatic pink granite boulders balance on top of each other like a giant’s building blocks, you could be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled on to a Hollywood movie set.

The towering formations perched at precarious angles look like the backdrop for a blockbuster as they reflect the colours of the setting sun.

But they are, in fact, the crowning glory of a not-to-be-missed hidden gem on the Brittany coastline.

The beauty spot of Perros-Guirec, which is set in a nature conservation area, is only a five-minute step away from the laid-back Eurocamp Yellow!Village parc Le Ranolien.

Walk in one direction – past artists painting the picturesque rock formations on the beach – to a looming lighthouse and gothic-looking abandoned chapel which are ripe for exploration.

Walk the other way and follow a stunning cliff-top path to the seaside port of Ploumanach, which is the ideal stop-off for lunch or dinner of local speciality moules et frites from a tempting row of beachfront restaurants.

Back at the holiday parc, a warm welcome is waiting from young British couple Emma and Damon.

They are the most conscientious of hosts, who are living the dream of following their wanderlust to a new home in France with their son, Nathaniel.

They will introduce you to the area as well as the facilities on site, which include a fantastic pool complex with a four-lane slide and covered pool.

Children will love the mini-cinema and crazy golf course.

Parents will enjoy indulging at the beauty/wellness spa with a sauna, steamroom, sunbeds and a range of massages and treatments.

Mellow Breton stone farm buildings have been sympathetically converted into a bar, pizzeria, creperie and good quality takeaway which, together, make catering for your family’s holiday hassle-free.

Choose your accommodation from a selection of two and three-bedroom Superior fully-equipped mobile homes sensitively placed in settings which allow for some privacy.

Some have sought-after decking for meals and afternoon sunbathing.

Or you can pick a pitch for your tent or caravan – dogs are welcome too!

Just avoid the French bank holidays when the site becomes popular with visitors camping for a long weekend getaway.

When you can tear yourself away from the walkers’ paradise of picturesque beaches on your doorstep, take a leisurely stroll through the large market of nearby Lannion to stock up on local supplies or simply soak up the atmosphere

Le Ranolien is a holiday treasure the lucky few will find in the pages of Eurocamp’s latest offerings.

The breathtaking beauty spot is a secret enjoyed by locals, just waiting to be discovered by holidaying families in the know.
