A27: All lanes cleared and two hospitalised after lorry sheds its load – UPDATE

ALL lanes of the A27 have been cleared after an accident involving a lorry and a car.

The incident occurred between the A3M at Farlington and the A2030 at Eastern Road and led to delays in both directions.

Two eastbound lanes of the A27 were previously closed but are now open and a westbound lane which was blocked has now been cleared.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said the accident occurred after a car and a lorry collided, causing the larger vehicle to shed some of its load.

The service treated six patients at the scene.

One man has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries alongside one woman, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
