A27: Two-hour delay after lorry sheds its load – UPDATE

MOTORISTS on the A27 are now facing a delay as long as two hours after a lorry shed its load.

All lanes westbound between the A3M at Farlington and the A2030 at Eastern Road have been cleared after the accident, which occurred just before 3pm

But eastbound lanes three and four, along the same stretch of road, remain blocked.

Pictures captured at the scene show debris scattered across the road, with emergency workers present.

Bus operator Stagecoach confirmed the ‘severe’ congestion was because a lorry had ‘lost its load’ and has said all its Portsmouth services are battling lengthy delays.

Traffic service Romanse confirmed eastbound drivers are facing a wait of two hours from J9 of the M27/A27 at Park Gate.
