THE A3 was closed for three hours yesterday after an accident involving four vehicles.

The crash occurred at around midday when two motorbikes, a Ford Transit van and a Volvo, collided on the northbound carriageway of the A3, near Petersfield.

The road was closed until 3pm and a diversion was put in place.

The two motorbike riders were taken to hospital with non-life threatening facial injuries. The drivers of the van and Volvo were unhurt.
