MORE than 700 athletes, officials and supporters of the 2011 NatWest Island Games will be landing at Southampton Airport later this month.

In total, teams from 25 islands around the world will be taking part in 14 sports at the games, held on the Isle of Wight.

Jan Halliday, of Southampton Airport, said the airport has been working with the organisers for months to ensure a warm welcome for the athletes before they head for the ferry.
