A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered body fractures following a collision on the M27 this morning.
The accident happened at junction 12 (Portsmouth) at 8.19am when a motorbike collided with a car.
A member of the public alerted the emergency services to the accident and an ambulance services rapid-response unit and fire service hazard area response team were sent to the scene.
It was originally believed the motorbike rider suffered minor injuries to his left leg and arm. They have now been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital with fracture injuries.
Lanes two and three on the westbound carriageway were closed following the incident at 8.30am. They were re-opened shortly before 9.00am.
