A 16-year-old boy was left with serious eye injuries after he was hit by a motorcyle on the A27.

He was crossing Bridge Road at the Swanwick Lane traffic lights at Sarisbury Green, at around 5.10pm on Tuesday when the accident happened.

The teenager was taken to hospital but the 26-year-old motorcyclist, a woman from Southsea, was uninjured.

Two hours later a Triumph Tiger motorcycle collided with a Vauxhall Corsa in Bridge Road at its junction with Glen Road – close to Sarisbury Green United Reformed Church.

The male motorcyclist, who is believed to be in his 40s, was knocked off his bike.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics for his injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment.

The male driver of the Vauxhall was not injured.

Police blocked the road while the vehicles were recovered and some fuel spilt from the vehicles was removed.

The road was reopened by officers at 7.50pm.
