Two RAF fighter jets were this afternoon scrambled to intercept a UK bound airliner after unconfirmed reports of a security threat.

The Heathrow-bound Pakistan International Airlines flight was diverted to Stansted Airport. The flight landed safely at Stansted shortly before 3pm.
