THE Eclipse Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service has received an award.

The bus route through Fareham and Gosport won an ‘Excellent Access’ award from the Gosport Access Group and Disability Forum.

The award was presented by the Mayor of Gosport, Councillor John Beavis MBE, to Glenn Jones, staff manager at First’s Hoeford depot in Fareham, where the Eclipse buses are based.

Tony Elbourn, chairman of the Gosport Access Group and Disability Forum said: ‘We were delighted to present our Excellent Access award to the Eclipse service this year.

‘The nomination was made by the mother of one of our disabled members who really enjoys using the Eclipse buses because of the easy access and the friendliness of the drivers.’

Marc Reddy, managing director of First, Hampshire, Dorset & Berkshire said: ‘When we launched Eclipse, we took care to recruit and train a team of elite drivers who have excellent safety and customer care credentials and a real passion for their work.’
