CHANGES are being made to several bus services across the area.

The First group has announced a series of alterations starting on December 4.

Services affected are:

n 13/14, City Centre circular service: this will be split into two routes. As previously reported, Service 13 will operate between the city centre and Milton every 30 minutes, 14 will operate between The Hard and Baffins, every 20 minutes, all Monday to Friday.

n 80 Southampton-Fareham: the 6.45am journey from Park Gate towards Fareham is being removed, while the frequency of buses on Saturdays from 3pm is being cut to one bus an hour. A new variation 80A, to serve the new developments at Hunts Pond Road, in Titchfield Common, is being added.

n 93/93A, 95/95A, Fareham-Highlands circulars: Monday-Friday morning and evening peak periods, and all day Saturday, are being cut to every 20 minutes. The 8.30pm Monday to Saturday journey from Fareham Bus Station is being stopped.

The last bus will now be 6.15pm.

n X42, Gunwharf-South Downs College: Widley is being removed from the route.

n 610, Catisfield-Cams School: Only the 7.49am and the 3.31pm afternoon return journey will continue.

Simon Newport, regional route development manager for First, said: ‘The changes are designed to better match our current resources against the level of demand for services.’
