A MOTORIST has escaped from a crash that left his vehicle on its roof with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Cott Road and the A32, north of Wickham at 8.48am.

The black Ford Fusion had left the road and was upside-down in a ditch. No other vehicles are believed to be involved at this stage.

Firefighters helped remove the male driver from his car and he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Portsmouth.

Police spokeswoman Hayley Court described his injuries as ‘slight.’

The road did not need to be closed but the rescue operation did cause severe congestion during rush hour.
