BUS users are being reminded that services across the area are changing from Sunday.

Most of the First routes in Portsmouth, Southsea, Waterlooville, Paulsgrove, Gosport and Fareham are being replaced with entirely new services, as previously reported.

But four changes – affecting routes in Gosport, Fareham and Portsmouth, see panel – have been added to the list at the last minute following consultation with commuters.

The changes are in reaction to feedback the company received though public talks, customer roadshows, Facebook responses, and displays in public places including a number of libraries.

Marc Reddy, regional commercial and business growth director for First, said: ‘Where we have had feedback from customers, we have taken this on board.

‘While in many cases we’ve asked people to reserve judgment on the new network until they’ve had the chance to use it, where we have recognised that a small adjustment here or there could make a big difference to local people, we have made some additional changes.’

These new changes will also take place from Sunday.

New timetables and route maps have been printed and made available to the public for several weeks in the run-up to the change and adverts were displayed throughout the area.

Mr Reddy added: ‘Preparing for this network change has required significant effort from all parts of our business.

‘Our network planners have been working hard to finalise all the routes and timetables, our marketing team has been working round the clock to design all the new materials and ensure that customers get the information they need.

‘Our operational team has been briefing our drivers and ensuring that they know what they’re doing from day one.

‘To talk about it in numbers, in the past eight weeks we’ve printed, designed and distributed more than 50,000 timetables, 25,000 network maps and spoken to literally hundreds of people on a one to one basis.’ For more information see
