MORE than 400 vehicles have been reported in just eight months as part of crack-down on untaxed vehicles.

Fareham Borough Council’s enforcement officers identified and reported 373 cases within the borough to the DVLA between April and December last year.

Police, ACSOs and PCSOs reported a further 34 cases in the borough.

The DVLA take action on every report that they receive, if an offender does not settle the matter by way of an out of court settlement they will proceed to prosecution at magistrates court.

Councillor Arthur Mandry in charge of public protection matters, said: ‘I’m pleased that the work of our enforcement officers has helped the DVLA in successfully fining those who been using untaxed vehicles on public highways and car parks.’
