TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill following a motorway smash.

An articulated lorry collided with a Ford Focus and a Peugeot 307 on the M27 eastbound above the Portsbridge roundabout near junction 12 at 5.15pm today.

Firefighters from Havant and Cosham were also called following reports of a diesel spillage.

One lane was closed for about an hour and there were lengthy tailbacks as debris was cleared from the scene.

One person suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Three people were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
