POLICE are trying to trace the driver of a car who hit a cyclist and hurt her shoulder.

A small light-coloured car hit the cyclist on the B2178 St Pauls Road in Chichester, at its junction with Little Breach.

The woman driver stopped and spoke to the cyclist but did not leave her details.

The cyclist initially rode off on her damaged bike but later went to St Richard’s Hospital, where she was admitted for four days.

She had to undergo surgery to fix a serious injury to her shoulder.

Police are trying to identify the driver involved in the collision and would like her to come forward.

They would also like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

The collision happened on January 11 at 12.10pm.
