A DATE has been set for a decision on a long-awaited bypass and new road.

Hampshire County Council will decide whether to allow the Stubbington bypass and a new Newgate Lane South at a meeting on October 21.

Executive member for transport Sean Woodward said: ‘These new roads are critical to improving the movement of traffic on to and off the Gosport peninsula. I’m delighted we’ve been able to move the schemes forward from just proposals in two years.’
