Delays out of Portsmouth after M275 crash

DRIVERS in Portsmouth are facing major delays throughout the city this morning, after an accident on the M275.

The incident, which has taken place on the outbound carriageway towards the M27, is causing traffic to build up from Church Street roundabout.

One lane has been blocked northbound between Tipner Lane and the M27 as a result of a collision between two vehicles.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary said: '˜We were called at around 8am to a two vehicle collision on the northbound M275, just north of the Tipner roundabout.

'˜No one was injured.'

The news comes after an earlier incident on the M27 westbound between Junctions 12 and 11, with hour-long delays stretching back to the A27 in Hilsea.

A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service has confirmed that there are no injuries to the people involved in the M27 crash, with all lanes now cleared.
