TWO motorists had to be cut free from their cars after they crashed in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Fire crews from Fareham and Gosport were called at 2.47pm yesterday after their Ford Ka and Alfa Romeo 147 collided at the junction of Browndown Road and Privett Road.

Both drivers, who were female, were put on spinal boards and treated by medics.

The owner of the Ford Ka suffered a broken ankle and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
