Engineering works that over-ran caused delays for Portsmouth area train passengers today.

South West Trains said some services had been almost an hour late in the early rush-hour.

A spokesman said: ‘Lines have reopened following over-running engineering works between Portsmouth Harbour and Havant.

‘Residual delays of up to 50 minutes are expected while services recover. This is expected to continue until 8am.’
