A FAMILY had a lucky escape after the car they were travelling in overturned on the M275 last night.

The female driver of a Citroen Picasso was taken to hospital with slight head injuries after the car overturned after hitting the crash barrier on the southbound carriageway of the M275.

It happened at just after 9pm.

Two young girls, who were also in the car, escaped unscathed and were also taken to hospital.

The road remained closed for around an hour while emergency crews worked.

Cosham fire fighter Alan Patrick said all occupants were out of the vehicle when fire crews arrived and that the girls were given trauma teddies.
