Police have named the Fareham couple who were killed following a single vehicle crash on the A34 on Monday evening.

Barry Janes, 70, and his wife Shirley, 69, were travelling southbound on the A34 at Three Maids Hill in a red Ford Fusion when it left the carriageway and ended up on its roof.

Mr and Mrs Janes’ family released a statement in tribute through Hampshire Constabulary.

It reads: ‘We are shocked and devastated to have lost our mum and dad, nanny and grandad in this way, who meant so much to us all as a family.

‘We feel so lucky to have shared our life with them and they will be sorely missed.’

Police at this stage still investigating how the car left the road and are appealing for witnesses.
