Police have named a man who died in an accident in Stubbington last week.

Brian Barnes, 74, from Fareham, was driving his black Peugeot 207 Sport when he was in collision with a blue Aprilia Sonic moped, shortly after 11.30am on Wednesday.

Mr Barnes lost consciousness at the scene and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, where he later died.

The rider of the scooter, a 42-year-old Fareham woman sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to it, to contact PC Alex Dale at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Firefly.
