Motorcyclist injured in Portsmouth crash

Have your say

EVEN the directors of a Portsmouth mailing company are getting on their bikes for the Big Green Commuter Challenge.

Codestorm is based in Walton Road, Farlington, and its staff have thrown their full support behind the week-long initiative encouraging them to walk, cycle, use public transport or car share instead of driving alone to work.

Operations manager Toni Ashmore said more than 60 per cent of the firm’s employees have signed up, including its senior management.

She said: ‘As a business we are very focused on reducing our environmental impact and over the last three years have made significant investments and changes which are providing great results and our staff have played a big part in this.

‘This week even our directors are car sharing, cycling and working from home. I’ve been cycling from my home in Southsea with a group of colleagues and it’s been great. We will definitely be continuing it during the summer.’

This year a record 46 companies are taking part in the challenge.
