A FERRY will be be out of service for several weeks after it was damaged after hitting the seabed.

Condor Ferries has announced that Commodore Clipper, which runs from Portsmouth to the Channel Islands, will be out of action until August 26 as complex repairs are needed.

Chief executive James Fulford said a replacement will be used to transfer Clipper passengers and essential goods to the Channel Islands.Extra services will also run.
