A FIVE-vehicle collision closed two lanes of the A3(M) northbound yesterday evening.

A police spokesman said five people were injured, one seriously, in the incident at junction five, which happened at around 5.34pm.

Fire crews from Havant and Cosham were sent out and freed two people from their vehicles.

The crash involved a Renault Clio, a Vauxhall Vectra, a Volkswagen Golf, a Ford Fiesta and a Toyota Aygo.

The casualties were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham.
