A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued after drifting three-quarters of a mile off

the Daedalus slipway in a canoe.

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service was called at 4pm on Sunday.

The girl and her father, who had swum out to her, were brought back to shore without injury. The rescue was one of three callouts made over the weekend as a result of strong sea tides.
