A YOUNG woman suffered serious leg injuries when she was involved in a car crash in Gosport.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened on December 29.

A silver Ford Ka was in collision with a green Alfa Romeo on the B3333 Privett Road at the junction with Browndown Road.

The Ford driver, a 23-year-old woman from Stubbington, was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham with a serious injury to her leg.

The other driver, a 40-year-old woman from Stubbington, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries and was later discharged.

Roads in the immediate area were closed for three hours to allow for a recovery and investigation of the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles driving prior to it.
