LIFEBOAT crews went to the rescue of a woman who suffered a back injury.

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service’s lifeboat went to her aid after she was just on a 38ft yacht.

It was heading to Portsmouth Harbour when the lifeboat attended.

The casualty was stabilised and given gas pain relief. The vessel was escorted back to the camber in Old Portsmouth.

An ambulance met the casualty on the land and she was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

On Thursday the crew helped a man, 45, who was hurt on No Mans Land Fort.
