POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was thrown from her moped in a car crash.

The 19-year-old, from Gosport, collided with a Ford Focus in Bridge Street, Swanwick at around 11am yesterday.

She was left with fractures to her arms and legs after the crash and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.

Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Firefighters were also called to cut a passenger free from the car after she complained of neck and back pain.

The passenger was also taken to Southampton’s hospital for treatment.

The 78-year-old driver of the car had minor cuts and bruises.

Police advised drivers to avoid the area while the road was blocked by the vehicles.
