A Hampshire mother was killed in a road accident on her way home from her sister’s funeral.

The 49-year-old woman was driving on the A31 when her Ford Fiesta was involved in a head-on collision with a BMW near Wimborne in Dorset.

Five other people, including the victim’s two children and her nephew, were seriously hurt in the crash.

Minutes earlier, the woman, who came from Ringwood, had left the funeral in Poole of her sister who was a technician with the South Western Ambulance Service.

Some of the paramedics at the funeral are believed to have been later sent were later sent to the crash scene on Wednesday afternoon,
