FOR the second year, gritter workers have been offered free flu jabs.

Amey, Hampshire County Council’s highways partner, has offered the jab to help ensure vital winter services such as gritting and snow ploughing are not compromised by seasonal illness.

Amey employs around 250 people in Hampshire to maintain and improve the county’s highways. This year more than one-third have taken up the offer of a free flu jab. Last winter seasonal winter illness reduced by 22 per cent.
