HEAVY delays are expected on the A27 after two crashes on each sliproad near Hilsea.

The eastbound slipway of the A27 at the Portsbridge Roundabout was closed for over an hour after six cars were involved in a crash.

Police, ambulance and fire services attended the crash in which a man, thought to be in his 30s, was cut from a car.

He was taken to hospital.

The Portsbridge Roundabout, in Hilsea, was also closed but one lane has now been reopened.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called at 2.14pm to six vehicles involved in a crash on the entry sliproad of the A27.

‘One person was taken by the ambulance services to hospital.’

One lane was also closed on the westbound slip way coming off the A27 at the Portsbridge Roundabout due to an accident.

Delays are expected to Junction 12 of the M27 and on the A27 heading towards Portsmouth.
