A man was knocked off his bicycle by a hit-and-run driver in Hilsea.

The 22-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries after the collision in London Road near the Coach and Horses pub about 7.40am Saturday.

Police said the driver of the car, a brown or gold family saloon, left the scene without stopping after the accident.
