AN ERROR which blighted traffic travelling to and from a city hospital has been resolved.
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust has confirmed a ‘data connection’ issue linked to Queen Alexandra Hospital’s public car park was rectified at 9.45am on Wednesday morning.
The problem at the Cosham site emerged during ‘late morning’ on Tuesday and affected its barriers and ticket machines.
Because of difficulties the snag caused with traffic flow, a number of Portsmouth bus routes began to face delays just before rush hour that day.
Services 2, 3 and 18 were all at least 35 minutes behind schedule at one stage – leading to a ‘sincerely’ apologetic tweet from bus operator First to customers affected.
In an update sent out yesterday, a spokesperson for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust said Queen Alexandra Hospital itself was not affected by the issue.
The trust had said on Tuesday night it was ‘aware of the situation’ and was ’working to improve it'.
