COMMUTERS using the Hovertravel service will have priority queuing during the Isle of Wight Festival if they are not attending the four-day event.

Season card, travel card, and ticket holders are advised to make themselves known to Hovertravel staff when arriving at the Southsea terminal on June 21 and 22 to be fastracked to the priority boarding area and boarded on the next available departure.

This counts for commuters using the service on June 25 from the Ryde terminal.

Managing director of Hovertravel Neil Chapman said: ‘We recognise that, while we may be busy, we must still facilitate travel across the Solent for business and hospital appointments, or going on holiday to cruise ports and airports.’

He added the firm guarantees no changes in fares for Portsmouth residents.
