A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with a head injury after falling off his bike on a busy roundabout.

The 20-year-old man was cycling along Purbrook Way, close to Asda in Bedhampton and the junction of the A3(M), when he came off the bike.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 11am yesterday and he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, for treatment.

Emergency services were also called to a pedestrian who was hit by a car.

The 21-year-old man was struck by the Volkswagen Golf car in South Parade, Southsea.

An emergency response car and an ambulance went to the scene at about 10.45pm on Saturday.
