A BUS service that took people to a retail park for free has been stopped due to lack of interest.

The bus took people from Fareham, Titchfield, Warsash and Locks Heath to Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s in Hedge End twice a week.

It had been operating for 16 years and will make its final journeys today.

The service cost retailers around £50,000 a year and it is understood that it is no longer financially viable due to lack of passengers.

Warsash Residents’ Association has launched a petition against the closure.
