A crash between two lorries led to delays on the M27 today.

The accident happened at the start of the A31, just after the western end of the motorway, and caused hold-ups for drivers who had to divert through the New Forest.

The A31 was closed westbound as police dealt with the accident, which happened at around 6am. West-bound drivers were diverted through Lyndhurst.

There were reports of oil spilt in the road but police were able to reopen the road to traffic shortly after 7am.
