A section of the M27 was reopened today after a 74-year-old woman fell to her death from a bridge across the motorway.

Nine people needed hospital treatment for shock after witnessing the horrific scene.

The road reopened at 1am after being closed for hours.

The westbound carriageway was shut at Junction 3 for Nursling after the incident at at about 6.30pm yesterday

South Central Ambulance Service said nine people had been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment for shock after witnessing the scene.
