A MAN had to be cut out of his car after it overturned on the M27.

The incident happened between junctions 10 and 11 eastbound at Fareham, at 10.13pm yesterday.

Two fire crews from Fareham, one crew from Cosham and the special equipment unit from Cosham were called to the scene.

Firefighters cut the man free from his red Peugeot 106 and he was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The Highways Agency closed the section of the road and the slipways at junction 9 while emergency services worked at the scene.

The vehicle was recovered and the road reopened at 3.33am.
