A MAN has died following a hit and run incident.

Police received a report of a hit and run incident in Rowan Way, Bognor, just after 10pm yesterday.

The injured man, Charlie Hancock, of Nyetimber Lane, Pagham, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, where he died in the early hours of the morning.

A 41-year-old local man, believed to be the driver of the car, was arrested for grievous bodily harm at the time.

This is now being treated as a homicide investigation by Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team working in conjunction with colleagues in West Sussex Division.

Rowan Way has been closed this morning while police carry out an examination of the scene.
