A MAN has died after being struck by a train at a level crossing.
He was hit this afternoon shortly after 2pm in Oving.
All trains are currently cancelled between Chichester and Barnham, There is no firm estimate currently of how long disruption could last.
Replacement buses are due to be running between Barnham and Havant and 700 Stagecoach buses are also accepting train tickets.
British Transport Police were called, with a spokesman saying officers were at the Woodhorn Lane level crossing.
‘Colleagues from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Sussex Police also attended, and a body of a man was discovered at the scene,’ he said.
‘Officers are trying to identify the man, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, and inform his next of kin.
‘We will prepare a file for the coroner.’
