A MOTORCYCLIST has died after crashing into a telegraph pole.

The rider of a silver motorbike crashed into the pole on the A272 at Bramdean, near Petersfield, at about 5pm today.

The air ambulance was called, but the rider was declared dead at the scene.

Inspector Robert Shaw said: ‘Road closures have been put in place to enable the investigation of the scene and to enable the telegraph pole to be repaired.’

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have information about the accident to call 101 quoting Operation Readership.
