AN elderly man has been taken to hospital with a head injury after he was knocked down by a vehicle in North End.

The pensioner was hit by a car at the junction of London Road and Stubbington Avenue at 11.50am.

Police and an ambulance attended the scene.

The casualty was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. No arrests were made.

A police spokesman said: ‘The injuries do not initially appear to be life-threatening but it’s in the early stages because of his age.’
