Man taken to hospital after jumping off bridge in Gosport

EMERGENCY services were called after a man jumped off Haslar Bridge in the early hours of the morning.

Police were called to the scene in Haslar Road at about 6am after reports the man was in the water below. 

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Services (Gafirs) and the Hillhead coastguard were also called.

However, police received a message at 6.10am to say the man was out of Haslar Creek. 

Paramedics then took him to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. 

Other than being '˜cold and wet', South Central Ambulance Service said it had no record of the man sustaining any injuries.Â
