Neighbours have spoken of hearing a big bang like a ‘bomb’ going off as a lorry crashed into a Gosport house.

Nicola Duggan, 42, and her husband Michael, 38, of Wheatsheaf Mews, in Brockhurst Road, were woken up.

Michael said: ‘The first thing we heard was a big bang.

‘It was like a bomb going off.

‘We were both asleep.’

The pair and their children Josh, nine, and Megan, six, were evacuated from their home as a car had been hit in front of their home, which is not connected to the home hit by the lorry.

Firefighters are now preparing to remove the lorry from the home.
