DRIVERS using part of the A31 can expect delays this morning due to a police incident.

The A31 eastbound near Ringwood has been closed since around 4.30am today.

Traffic is queueing traffic eastbound between the turn for Salisbury and the entry slip road onto A31 Poulner Hill from centre of Poulner junction.

A diversion has been put in place – large vehicles are being diverted onto the A338 to Fordingbridge and the B3078 Roger Penny Way past Godshill and Brook.

Other vehicles are still able to get onto the A31 eastbound from Poulner.

Drivers are looking to delays of around 20 minutes.

Hampshire Police say the road is likely to remain closed for the next few hours and have not released details of the incident.
