Pedestrian hit by lorry in A27 crash

A PEDESTRIAN suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a lorry, police have said.

The man, in his 40s, was hurt in the crash that happened just before 6pm yesterday between the Fishbourne roundabout and Emsworth, on the westbound carriageway.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening, Hampshire police said.

A spokeswoman added: ‘We believe the collision occurred just before Emsworth services.’

No-one has been arrested.

The road was closed for several hours while officers dealt with the incident, with the crash believed to have taken place before the Emsworth services.
