PEOPLE can find out more about a proposed footbridge over a notorious level crossing this month.

As reported, Network Rail has submitted an application for a footbridge over the Fishbourne Road East crossing in Chichester.

Local campaigning for a bridge has been going on for more than a decade.

Welcoming the news, Fishbourne Parish Council chairman Geoff Hand said: ‘It is good news because it really is a very dangerous crossing.’

Network Rail is hosting a two-day event to discuss the changes. It will be at the site next Wednesday from 9.30am to 4pm, and at the Assembly Rooms, in North Street, Fishbourne, the following day from 4pm to 8pm.
